LaRayne K. Oltz, 79, of Whitefish, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2026, surrounded by family and friends.
Lori was born on Nov. 28, 1946, in St. James Minnesota to Elmer and Kathryn Lunz. Her passion to serve, led to her to a lifelong career as a CRNA.
In spring of 1969, while at the Mayo Clinic, she met her best friend and the love of her life, Tafford. They married Dec. 26, 1969, and spent the next 56 years hand in hand, finishing each other's sentences, sharing loving pokes, and most of all, laughter.
Lori is survived by her loving husband, Taff Oltz, their children, TJ Oltz (Beth), Kim Schumann, Jen Weinard (Brad) and Jeremy Oltz; grandchildren, Jonathan Oltz (Kelsey), Alicia Oltz and Rebecca Shuck (Billy); great-grandchildren, Rylee, Casey and Bradley; siblings, Allan Lunz (Bruce Kauk) and Barb Lunz, and her Griff pack, Parazzi, Higgins and Pip.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Kathryn (Ebbenga) Lunz; brother, Donald Lunz, and sister, Cheryl Hovik.
Our family cannot fully express how deeply we are touched by the outpouring of love from extended family, friends, colleagues near and far, and the entire hospital team. We are forever grateful for the strength, compassion and grace you showed us.
Cremation services will be handled by Darlington Cremation and Burial Service.
The family will host a memorial service, to be set at a later date.
