Two hurt in Highway 53 crash

Two people were hurt in a crash on Monday on Highway 53 near milepost 12 near Rathdrum, according to the Idaho State Police.
The crash happened about 1:45 p.m. when an eastbound FedEx delivery truck driven by a 33-year-old man from Spokane turned left in front of a westbound Kenworth truck and trailer driven by a 40-year-old man from Bonners Ferry, a press release said.
Both drivers were transported to a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
ISP, Idaho Transportation Department and Northern Lakes Fire responded to the scene.
The highway was still blocked at 5:40 p.m.
An investigation continues.
