Former Coeur d'Alene High star Colvin transfers to Portland State from UNLV

Teagan Colvin, who led Coeur d'Alene High to two state girls basketball championships before playing the last two seasons at UNLV, has transferred to Portland State, the Vikings announced.

Colvin, a 5-foot-7 guard, followed new Portland State head coach Karlie Burris, who was an assistant at UNLV.

Burris recruited Colvin — the 81st-ranked player in the nation in ESPN's Top 100 for the 2024 high school class — to UNLV when she was an assistant coach for the Rebels.

Colvin appeared in 47 games in her two seasons at UNLV. She started nine games as a sophomore at UNLV when she averaged 2.8 points, 2.2 rebounds and 2.0 assists over 15.1 minutes per game.

"I have known Teagan and her family for a long time, so this is a full circle moment," Burris said in a Portland State news release. "She is the ultimate competitor. She's an old school point guard who can create for herself and her teammates. Her leadership and work ethic will elevate the program immediately. We are so excited that she is a Viking."

At Coeur d'Alene, Colvin was the Gatorade Idaho Player of the Year in 2024.

Division II transfer Trejo-Delgado signs with Vandals

Idaho men's basketball coach Alex Pribble announced the signing of junior transfer forward Diego Trejo-Delgado, who joins the Vandals after two seasons at Division II Saint Martin's in Tacoma.

"Diego is a huge piece of the puzzle for us," Pribble said in a news release. "He brings some real toughness and competitiveness to our team. He's versatile and can impact the game in a lot of ways. The Vandal community is going to love watching him"

Trejo-Delgado, a Camargo, Mexico native, helped the Saints to a program record-tying 26 wins and the 2025-26 GNAC regular season and tournament titles, while earning a first team all-conference honor after averaging 15.2 points on 49% shooting from the field and nearly seven boards, all marks that rank top 10 in the league.

He also blocked a team-high 30 shots last season. As a freshman, he averaged 12.6 points and six rebounds, shooting 48.9%.

Trejo-Delgado is the second portal addition to join the Vandals this offseason, alongside 2024 Idaho Gatorade Player of the Year and Idaho high school all-time scorer Kase Wynott of Lapwai.

Boise State football coach Danielson signs contract extension through 2030 season

BOISE — After leading Boise State to its third consecutive conference championship, Boise State head football coach Spencer Danielson has agreed to a contract extension through the 2030 season, Boise State Athletics announced on Monday.

Danielson’s new contract will give him a base salary of $2.1 million that will raise $100,000 per year, to $2.5 million, by 2030, the Idaho Statesman reported.

The contract is subject to final approval by the Idaho State Board of Education.

Danielson also signed a big contract extension last April that lasted through 2029, the Statesman said.

Danielson, who took the helm of Boise State football as the interim head coach toward the end of the 2023 campaign, has led the Broncos to a 24-8 record in his two-plus seasons as the head coach. He also lifted the Broncos to a top-10 national ranking and College Football Playoff appearance in 2024 as well as three straight conference titles.

By claiming the 2025 Mountain West crown this past season, Danielson joined Lincoln Riley (Oklahoma, 2017-19) as the only two coaches to win three consecutive FBS conference titles in the first three seasons of their career.

“Spencer is elite, and we’re so happy to have him continuing to serve our football program as its head coach,” Boise State athletic director Jeramiah Dickey said in a news release. “He leads with his heart and cares deeply about our student-athletes as young men, all the while still raising the bar for our competitive excellence each year. He surrounds himself with the right staff and student-athletes, and he is a servant leader which shines through every day. We’re grateful for him and excited to have him as the leader of Boise State football and our community for years to come.”

“Boise is home for my family, and we’re proud to represent this football program, university, community, and state through the role I have as the leader of Boise State football,” Danielson said. “I’m thankful for the players and staff who make this program great every day. I always believe the best is yet to come for Boise State, and it’s because of the Broncos from yesterday, today and tomorrow who pour into this place through their hard work and dedication to the team. It’s also because of Bronco Nation, who I believe are the best fans in the country. The people at Boise State show my family each and every day why we want to be here.”

The 2026 campaign will mark Danielson’s 10th as a member of the Bronco coaching staff, having climbed the ranks of the program after starting as a graduate assistant in 2017. He was the fifth Boise State head coach to win at least 20 of his first 25 games at the helm of the program, joining Lyle Smith, Tony Knap, Dan Hawkins and Chris Petersen.

Eastern adds former local standout Miller to 2026–27 roster

CHENEY — Eastern Washington men's basketball coach Dan Monson announced the addition of transfer Jamil Miller from Kennesaw State to the EWU roster for the 2026-27 season.

Miller is no stranger to the Spokane area. A product of Gonzaga Prep, he earned All-Greater Spokane League honors as a freshman before being named league MVP as a sophomore. As a senior at Combine Academy in Lincolnton, N.C., he was selected to the all-state first team and earned national tournament MVP honors.

“Jamil will be an immediate impact piece for us in 2026–27,” Monson said in a news release. “His ability to defend, rebound and score in a variety of ways will translate right away. Starting 27 games in Conference USA as a true freshman speaks to both his mental and physical toughness. We’re excited to bring Jamil back home to Spokane County.”

During his freshman season at Kennesaw State (2024–25), Miller started 27 games, averaging 6.8 points and 4.8 rebounds per game. He added 21 steals, 15 blocks, and totaled 158 rebounds on the year.
