Adult women interested in building outdoor skills, gaining confidence and connecting with nature are invited to attend the 2026 Region 1 Beyond BOW program, Becoming an Outdoors Woman, at Lone Pine State Park in Kalispell. The program begins Friday evening, May 29, and continues Saturday, May 30, offering a dynamic and supportive environment for learning and exploration.

“This program is all about helping women feel more confident and capable outdoors,” said Lone Pine State Park recreation ranger Eryn O’Brien. “Whether you’re brand new to outdoor recreation or looking to expand your skills, Beyond BOW offers a supportive, fun and empowering experience.”

The weekend features a blend of engaging sessions and hands-on, small-group workshops tailored to a variety of interests which include learning the basics of backpacking, fly fishing and archery, developing skills in identifying birds, wildflowers and trees and shrubs and building confidence in first aid, navigation, and fire and shelter construction.

Guest speakers include representatives from the Montana Loon Society and the local authors of “What’s Left of Wilderness.”

The cost is $45. Registration opens April 20 at 9 a.m. Space is limited, and early registration is encouraged.
