Lawrence “Larry” Redfield

June 27, 1936, to April 14, 2026

Larry peacefully passed away Tuesday, April 14, and is now resting in heaven, reunited with his beloved wife, Sheila, and his cherished son, Joe. He lived a remarkable life filled with adventure, service and meaningful connections.

Larry had countless stories to share from his extraordinary journey, including the many friendships he formed in Coeur d'Alene, where he retired 34 years ago. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War as a fighter pilot aboard the USS Ranger. Following his military service, he continued his passion for aviation as a commercial airline pilot for Western and Delta, dedicating over 30 years to the skies.

His love of airplanes, history and even his enjoyment of the Weather Channel will always be remembered as part of his enduring legacy. Above all, Larry was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who treasured every moment spent with his family.

He is survived by his two sons, John and David; his daughter-in-law, Julie; and his grandson, Benjamin. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
