Melva Kaye Gerrard, 81

Melva Kaye Gerrard passed away Sunday morning, April 19, 2026, after a 15-year-long battle with cancer. Kaye, as she liked to be called, was born in Turin, Iowa, on Aug. 17, 1944. 

She enjoyed sewing, gardening and local charity work. Kaye was a loving wife and homemaker until the loss of her husband, Fred, in December 2007. Prior to that, they both traveled the country and the world together for her husband's work as a Navy Chief, then a defense contractor, until settling in Idaho in early 1992. 

Kaye was survived by her three sons, James Gerrard, Troy Gerrard and Derek Gerrard. As well as her grandsons, Trent Gerrard (and his wife, Naynay) and Luke Gerrard. And her granddaughter, Cali.

Kaye was very much loved in the community and will be sorely missed. It is a blessing to know that she now resides in a better place.
