Prolific Bonney paces Red Devils

Sandy Bonney continued her outstanding string of spring of track and field performances in leading the Noxon track and field team at the Libby Invitational Saturday.
Bonney placed in three events, winning third in the javelin (with a best throw of 104-4), fifth in the high jump (with a best leap of 4-6) and sixth in the long jump (14 feet, one-half inch) to lead the Devils to 19 team points in the Libby girls varsity meet.
Georgia Boehme placed fourth in the 1600 meters for the Devils’ other team points in the girls meet in Libby.
Noxon athletes also participated in both of the junior varsity meets at Libby with the Red Devil girls scoring 38 points and the boys 14.
Noxon track and field teams were set to compete in the Thompson Falls Invitational Tuesday and will compete at the Seeley-Swan Invitational at MCPS Stadium in Missoula Saturday.

Local excel in Gary Thompson Invitational
It wasn’t originally scheduled to go down this way, but the 2026 Gary Thompson Invitational was held at River’s Bend outside of Thompson Falls May 5, and local players dotted the leader board at tourney’s end.
