Tristan Robert Caswell, 40, of Kalispell, passed away on April 8, 2026. Born Feb. 20, 1986, in Plains to parents, Carol and Harry Caswell, Tristan was a true son of Big Sky Country who carried the warmth and generosity of small-town Montana with him wherever he went.
He grew up in the close-knit community of Plains, where he developed the qualities that would define his life; a genuine kindness toward others and a willingness to lend a hand whenever it was needed. Those who knew him understood that Tristan was the kind of person you could count on whether the situation called for something big or small. He graduated from Flathead High School in 2005 and set out on a life that would take him across the country, but no matter where his life took him, he always found his way back to his true home of Kalispell.
Throughout his life, Tristan was an excellent swimmer, a champion motorcross rider, a loving brother, a devoted uncle and a good friend. He loved music, working on old cars and taking his boat out to enjoy the natural beauty he found in the Flathead Valley.
Those who knew him knew Tristan was a man of with a can-do spirit, an infectious laugh and a heart as big as the Montan skies under which he was raised. He never hesitated to extend a helping hand to anyone in need, a quality that endeared him to many. Whether it was a simple act of kindness or a grand gesture, Tristan’s willingness to help knew no bounds. His life was a testament to the impact that one person can have on the lives of many.
Tristan was preceded in death by parents, Carol and Harry Caswell and is survived by brother, Chayne Caswell, stepbrother, Cory Heater, stepfather, Mike Heater and nephew, Hunter Doyle; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
