Adult women looking to build outdoor skills, gain confidence and connect with nature are invited to attend the 2026 Region 1 Beyond BOW (Becoming an Outdoors Woman) program at Lone Pine State Park.
The program will take place Friday evening, May 29, and continue through Saturday, May 30, offering a dynamic and supportive environment for learning and exploration.
“This program is all about helping women feel more confident and capable outdoors,” said Lone Pine State Park Recreation Ranger Eryn O’Brien. “Whether you’re brand new to outdoor recreation or looking to expand your skills, Beyond BOW offers a supportive, fun and empowering experience.”
The Region 1 Beyond BOW program offers a welcoming space for women to try new outdoor activities, build practical skills and connect with fellow adventurers.
The weekend features a blend of engaging sessions and hands-on, small-group workshops tailored to a variety of interests, including: Outdoor Skills – Learn the basics of backpacking, fly fishing and archery; Eco Explorers – Develop skills in identifying birds, wildflowers and trees and shrubs; and Wilderness Ready – Build confidence in first aid, navigation, and fire and shelter construction.
Guest speakers include representatives from the Montana Loon Society and the local authors of “What’s Left of Wilderness.”
The cost for the program is $45. Registration opened April 20 at 9 a.m. Space is limited, and early registration is encouraged.
