ArtWorks, Sandpoint’s only artist’s co-operative, celebrated its 30th anniversary in May 2025 by investing in signs and lights. You may have noticed the three-dimensional sign across from The Hive fabricated by Dave Gonzales and the sign painted by Beth Pederson over the sidewalk. Turns out signs help people find you.

So next we turned to lights and now people can see the art. Sometimes, it’s the simplest things that make a difference.

We’ve seen an uptick in people buying local art. More customers, new artists with interesting mediums, and a community of members who encourages each other to get better at their art and displays. Many of our artists are involved with Pend Oreille Arts Council, teaching class and participating in the monthly art shows.

Our 2025 state of the state report is that art is alive and well in the community. Come by.
