PREP BASEBALL: Sandpoint completes season sweep of Bonners Ferry behind Schriber’s big day

I grew up in the small town of Orwigsburg, Pa., where I resided all of my life before moving to Sandpoint. I attended Blue Mountain High School, where I participated in cross country and track and field, a sport that I ended up falling in love with. I went on to attend and run for DeSales University (with other brief stints at Susquehanna University and Elizabethtown College) and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in sport communication with a minor in sport management. I remember just how great it made me feel when I was mentioned in my hometown newspaper. I want to be able to give that feeling to every athlete in Bonner County, no matter how big or small their accomplishments are. As an athlete myself, I know how many hours of work are put in on a daily basis, and that hard work deserves to be recognized. It is my goal to cover as much of the Bulldogs, Spartans and Wampus Cats as I can. I want to work with every athlete, parent, coach, administrator and the community to ensure the best stories are published. | April 23, 2026 1:00 AM

BONNERS FERRY — Senior Dallen Williams went 3-for-3 with a pair of RBI singles and a double, senior Mason Little matched that with a 3-for-3 effort that included a two-run single, an RBI single, and a double of his own, and the Bulldogs continued their winning ways during the opener of a non-league doubleheader held Tuesday against the Badgers at Bonners Ferry High.

Senior Parker Reichart added a pair of RBI singles as well while junior Jack Schriber contributed a two-run single and a sacrifice fly for Sandpoint, which scored four of their five runs in the fourth frame with two outs.

On the mound, Reichart was dominant, throwing 31 of his 45 pitches for strikes as he fanned a career-high seven batters across three two-hit innings. Little struck out four batters over two no-hit innings in relief to finish things out.

Kordale Burt and Colson Baisden had a hit each for Bonners Ferry, which was outhit 12-2 in the contest.

Senior Sage Medeiros drew two walks and senior Soren Caprio, along with juniors Landon Day and Carson Resso, all singled for Sandpoint as they cruised to the shutout victory.

BONNERS FERRY — Hitting your first career home run is a moment that most players will remember for a lifetime.

But having that home run be a grand slam? Priceless.

Junior Jack Schriber did just that as he skyed a deep ball over the center field fence to cap off Sandpoint's five-run fourth inning as the Bulldogs completed a sweep of the Badgers during the nightcap of Tuesday's non-league doubleheader at Bonners Ferry High.

Schriber also doubled, and senior Parker Reichart and junior Landon Day each put together a single, a double, and three runs scored apiece for Sandpoint, which also scored five runs in the first frame. Senior Dallen Williams also crossed the plate three times and chipped in both a two-run single and an RBI single while senior Soren Caprio recorded two base hits, including a two-run single of his own, as the Bulldogs outhit the Badgers 24-3 in the series.

On the mound, Sandpoint spread out three pitchers across five innings. Day collected his second win of the year, striking out two batters over two no-hit innings while sophomore Blake Bogadi fired in four strikeouts across two scoreless innings. Junior Carson Resso made his first varsity appearance on the rubber and recorded his first career strikeout as he threw a clean inning to close out the contest.

Ronin Hanson registered the lone hit for Bonners Ferry, which dropped to 5-13 on the year.

Junior Andrew Aexel had his first career base hit — a stand-up RBI double to left field in the fourth — and junior Austyn Young singled for Sandpoint (14-2), which has won six in a row and nine of their last 10 games. The Bulldogs will travel to Lakeland today for an important 5A Inland Empire League doubleheader.
