Cowell sentencing delayed, May setting

SANDPOINT — A Boundary County woman found guilty of two sexual abuse felonies is awaiting her fate after a sentencing hearing in her case has been delayed for a second time.
Katherine Cowell, 52, was found guilty of two charges of lewd conduct with a minor during a Feb. 9 trial, where a jury unanimously found her guilty after four hours of deliberation. She is facing up to the maximum of life in prison for the charges.
The sentencing, which is expected to take an hour, was originally scheduled for April 20 before being postponed to April 23. Now, the sentencing is reported to occur May 21 at 3 p.m.
Cowell currently remains at the Bonner County Jail without a bond.
