It wasn't quite the "Field of Dreams" or "Children of the Corn," but it was troubling and unnatural nonetheless to a passerby: Several people obviously setting up shop in a nearby field. They told the Kalispell Police Department that the group arrived with a black Dodge passenger vehicle and a tan-colored motorhome. They were making it "look like Florida," the caller told the police to underscore the severity of the situation. Officers spoke with a man and a woman in the field. The pair agreed to leave by noon the next day.
A motorist told officers that a cyclist struck their vehicle, a white Nissan Pathfinder. The collision left the cyclist with hip and shoulder pain.
Authorities warned a motorist about expired registration tags on their license plate.
Tired of hearing dogs barking down the street, a neighbor alerted the Police Department and offered evidence of the noise.
Officers escorted a brown and black Labrador retriever mix named Luna to the animal shelter in the hopes of reuniting her with her owner.
A homeless man asked the authorities for help and a bus ticket out of town. Officers discussed how to get him to Missoula for a doctor's appointment later in the week.
Finding a drinking establishment a little too relaxing a man fell asleep at the bar. Another customer then watched as he got behind the wheel of a black Ford Expedition with an open container of alcohol and drove off heading west on Center Street.
When a passerby reported saw a woman or maybe a girl hanging out in the center median of a road with a sign, they involved the authorities. Describing her as wearing a grey shirt and Daisy Dukes, they said they couldn't tell if she was asking for money. Arriving officers counseled the woman and sent her on her way.
Two men were apparently roaring up and down a bike path on motorcycles. The manager of a nearby RV park told the police it was an ongoing problem and suspected the pair lived south of the U.S. 93 Bypass. They had run one of his tenants off the bike path a week prior.
