Patsy Jane Immel entered her heavenly home April 13, 2026, in Sandpoint, Idaho, after declining from the effects of long-term dementia.

She was born to Jim and Jeanette Christensen on Jan. 29, 1947, in Denver, Colorado and was the youngest of three daughters. She graduated from Wheatridge High School in 1965 and married David Immel in 1968. They worked in the Denver area until 1977 when they joined Wycliffe Bible Translators and served with the support branch, JAARS, Inc. Patsy worked as a receptionist and administrative assistant, and Dave worked as an aircraft mechanic. Patsy was an organizer and used her skills to work and interact with co-workers and administrators. She was well liked and blessed with many good friends as they served in Peru, Papua New Guinea and at JAARS mission headquarters in North Carolina.

In 2007 they moved to Sandpoint, Idaho where she continued working with the mission as a personnel administrator. Patsy retired in 2012 and is survived by her husband Dave of fifty-seven years, three daughters, Kristen Brewer (Jeff) of Sandpoint Idaho, Amanda Erickson (Jason) of Bremerton, Washington and Heidi Schumaker (Dan) of Dorr, Michigan and eight grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Hope Law of Golden, Colorado and Carol Owen of Honolulu, Hawaii.

She was preceded in death by both parents.

The family would like to thank the staff of Hearthstone Village and Auburn Crest Hospice for the loving care they gave to Patsy over the years.

A memorial service in honor of Patsy’s life will be held at North Summit Church later this summer.

The family asks in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Wycliffe Bible Translators. Coffelt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of final arrangements.
