Doris Gorsuch, 98

Doris (Brown) Gorsuch, 98, passed away on Feb. 19, 2026, in Lake Oswego, Oregon. She was born Dec. 31, 1927, in Ada, Oklahoma, to John Price Brown and Eva Hester (Knopp) Brown. As a teenager, she moved with her family to Milltown, Montana. 

She attended Missoula County High School (now named Hellgate High School). She then attended the University of Montana and graduated with a degree in journalism. She worked as a newspaper reporter in Wallace, Idaho and later taught school in Gardiner and Bigfork. 

She married Robert V. Gorsuch on Dec. 19, 1953, in Missoula. Early in their marriage, they lived on the Yak Ranger District in northwest Montana and on the Bungalow Ranger District in northern Idaho. Eventually, they settled in Missoula. She worked at various jobs, including managing a credit union and being a school secretary. 

Following her husband’s retirement from the U.S. Forest Service in 1983, she and Bob moved to the Flathead Lake area. In 2017, they moved to Lake Oswego to be closer to family. Her husband, Bob, passed away July 6, 2024. 

She is survived by her son, Robert (Ann) of Happy Valley, Oregon; granddaughters, Taylor Bryant (Kyle) of Oregon City, Oregon and Kelley of Lake Oswego; great-granddaughter, Riley Ann Bryant; four grand cats, three great-grand cats, and two great-grand dogs.
