ISP seeks public's help in crash investigation

LEWISTON — The Idaho State Police is investigating a crash involving an officer with the Lewiston Police Department that occurred early Sunday and wants the public's help.
The crash occurred at about 1:15 a.m. at the intersection of D Street and 5th Street in Lewiston. A Lewiston Police Department patrol vehicle, a black 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by a 30-year-old female officer from Lewiston, was traveling westbound on D Street. A black 2009 Cadillac Escalade, driven by 29-year-old Tristyn Weeks of Lewiston, was also traveling westbound behind the patrol vehicle. While passing, the driver of the Cadillac Escalade struck the driver’s side of the patrol vehicle, a press release said.
Both drivers sustained minor injuries and were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The intersection was closed for about six hours while emergency responders worked at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation. Isp is seeking the public’s assistance. Anyone who had contact with Tristyn Weeks or who observed the black Cadillac Escalade prior to the crash is asked to contact ISP at (208) 750-9300 and reference case number 2026-00051803.
