Nine-run fourth powers Wolfpack softball over Butte

Ava Grady homered and hit two doubles as Glacier brought 14 batters to the plate in the fourth inning and defeated Butte 12-5 Saturday in Western AA softball.

Grady’s 3-run shot to center field put the Wolfpack (9-3) ahead 7-5 before Addy Cunningham capped off the fourth with another 3-run dinger. 

Grady finished with five RBIs, while scoring a pair of runs. She doubled in the first inning as Glacier tied the game up at one. 

Butte (4-4) pulled ahead 4-1 in the third thanks to a pair of RBI singles from Gracie Jonart and Allie Becker, and added another in the fourth on an RBI groundout from Jonart. 

The Wolfpack’s big fourth got rolling with Olivia Warriner’s RBI single and Taeler Holt’s two-run base knock, setting the table for Grady. 

Warriner threw four innings in the circle, allowing five runs on six hits. She struck out three. 

Grady threw three no-hit innings in relief, fanning eight batters.
