The only person in town “who seems to care” complained that 10 cars were parked on the bike path and recounted watching Kalispell Police Department and Montana Highway Patrol cars drive right on by. He requested extra patrols along U.S. 93 South to watch for illegally parked vehicles.

A man driving a large gray or silver dually truck reportedly struck a pedestrian by the courthouse and kept driving to a restaurant on U.S. 93 South. The pedestrian thought his ankle was broken and reported back pain, telling officers that he had recently had back surgery.

Students told someone that a school bus driver hit a parked car and left the scene without stopping. Officers contacted the bus company, which was aware of the incident. The company was handling the information exchange.

Officers later received a call from a woman who wanted to speak to a supervisor about a hit-and-run she was involved in, allegedly upset that the police didn’t make a report. She also didn’t understand how to fill out a form regarding the incident.

Someone called the police, worried that the driver of a speeding black Honda Civic that nearly hit them was drunk. Officers spoke to the driver, who reportedly said he was distracted by a friend and did not initially see the other car and swerved to avoid it.

A bank branch manager was suspicious of a man dressed in black who was sitting outside and using binoculars to look at a school and people leaving the bank. They noted that his vehicle had been illegally parked by a yellow curb for four to five hours and that he was not a customer. However, he claimed the “girls at the bank” were selling him something and told him to wait there. He also reportedly said he was waiting for them because there was a “big deal in town.” Officers got him to wait somewhere else.

A woman inquired why her car was the “only one” with a notice to move within 72 hours.
