SANDPOINT — Although the artifacts are old, there are new things happening at the museum and you won’t want to miss hearing all the details.
Members and the public are cordially invited to attend Bonner County Historical Society and Museum’s 2026 annual membership meeting on Tuesday, April 28 at 5 p.m. at The Hive, 207 N. First Ave., in downtown Sandpoint.
“The meeting will include board reports, volunteer recognition, and trustee elections,” Executive Director Hannah Combs said. “But the best part is that following the meeting we have acclaimed author Jack Nisbet here to share stories from an in-progress collection of essays about birds.”
Nisbet, who lives in Spokane, is renowned for his work as a naturist. He told Combs in an email that his love of birds began in childhood, when his mother and grandmother introduced him to the birds of the Catawba River in the Carolinas. This passion has threaded its way through a celebrated writing career exploring the human and natural history of the Pacific Northwest.
Combs said that tickets are available at the door. The cost is $18 for adults, $5 for those under 18 and free to children six and under. An advance 20 percent discount code will have been sent to museum members which includes free admission to all youth. Those under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
Members will be required to bring their membership cards to enter without advance tickets. There is no charge to attend the annual meeting.
For more information call or visit the museum, 611 S. Ella Ave., 208-263-2344.
