ASSASSIN: Press coverage unfair
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 1 week, 1 day AGO
Last night an armed left-leaning man attempted to enter the banquet room at the White House Correspondent’s Dinner. Three thousand people, including the president of the United States and his cabinet, were attending the dinner. The gunman shot a Secret Service agent in the chest and was apprehended by law enforcement before gaining entrance to the dinner.
This assassination attempt should have been a front-page story in the Cd’A Press. The story was relegated to page 10 by your editor. This obvious politically biased attempt to reduce the seriousness of this situation was followed by a political cartoon insinuating the president and his cabinet were crazy.
I expect more from our local paper! Perhaps it is time for an evaluation of the editorial staff of the Cd’A Press. I am hoping that the Cd’A Press will make a better attempt at balance in your reporting.
