Baseball wins two on the road, but loses to Eureka

The Columbia Falls baseball team got a pair of wins on the road last week, dropping Florence-Carlton 8-3 Thursday and Corvallis 8-0 Saturday. Both games were played in Missoula at the Paddleheads Stadium.
Against Florence, the Wildcats had a big third inning with four runs in the bottom of the stanza which gave them a 6-3 lead after Florence went up 3-2 in the top of the third.
Tristan Victor drove in two runs on a single and Jaxson Cadwell had a triple.
Nico Young went the distance on the mound, striking out nine.
Against Corvallis, the Cats scored five in the first inning as Jett Pitts and Victor had singles and Zeke Dunn had a double. Dunn had three RBIs for the game and Pitts had two.
Tayvin Beach got the start on the bump and Derek Juntunen went two –plus innings as well in a game that went five.
Last Tuesday, they had a tough time against Eureka at home. They tied the game 7-7 in the seventh after spotting the Lions four runs in the first two innings, but Eureka hit a two out, two run homer in the top of the eighth and held on for the win.
The Cats play Whitefish today (Wednesday) at 5 p.m. in Whitefish.
The Wildcats travel to Noxon Friday and Eureka next Tuesday as the road trip continues into May.
