Girls win Iceberg Invite

The Columbia Falls girls won their home Iceberg Invitational track meet Saturday, while the boys were second to Bigfork.
The girls edged Hamilton for the title in the 10-school event.
Ashley Andrews won the 800 meters with a 2.32.28; freshman Hazel Matson won the 100 hurdles with a 17.74; and Soli Bullemer took first in the pole vault, clearing 11 feet even.
Mila Johns was second in the 3,200; Tessa Pacheco was sixth in the 400; Cora Hannon was second in the 300 hurdles. The girls were third in the 400 relay and second in the 1,600 relay. Rachell Ruther took fourth in the shot put, Maddy Barker tied for second in the high jump.
Luciana Kress was fourth in the long jump and Bollemer was third in the triple to round out the girls scoring.
On the boys side, Jett Brandeberry took second in the 100 meters with a 11.7 and fourth in the 200. Cash Short and Aiyers Powell were fifth and sixth in the 800 and Powell took fourth in the 1,600.
Eamon Schule and Connor Jordan were second and third respectively in the 3,200. Keian Moran was fifth.
Miles Colliander was third in the 100 and 300 hurdles and Daniel Contreras was fourth in the 100 hurdles.
The boys took second in the 400 relay and fourth in the 1,600 relay. Joe West was second in the javelin.
Tristian Archuletta and Kale Schaeffer tied for third in the pole vault. Dylan Owens nabbed fifth in the long jump and Easton Brooks was second in the triple jump.
