The Glacier Art Museum presents a special fundraiser event this May, Glacier Starry Night: Benefit Gala and Art Auction, featuring recent artwork by 36 invited artists from around Flathead Valley, Montana and the United States. The ticketed fundraiser sales event will take place at the Wachholz College Center on Friday, May 8, from 5–8 p.m.

Distinguished artists have been invited for their connection to Montana, quality of work, and exhibition history with the museum. Participating artists are known for their studio and plein air works highlighting the people, landscapes, communities and history of the region. Paintings, etchings and photography are featured in this year’s event with subject matter including Glacier’s iconic views, indigenous culture and stories, and wildlife.

The event will also honor renowned Flathead Valley artist Tom Saubert for his distinguished career and lifetime contributions to this region and to the visual arts.

This premier event will feature an artist champagne mixer, live art auction with auctioneer Bo Carpenter, silent auction for smaller works and Glacier Park historic works, raise the paddle opportunity, live painting demos with artists Kenneth Yarus and Wanda Mumm, appetizers and buffet dinner by House of S&M, drinks and signature cocktails by Spinnaker Bay, and live music by The Glacier Symphony Quartet.

Event premier sponsors, FOR Fine Art Gallery of Whitefish and Bigfork, and Good Luck Gallery in Kalispell, have donated works for the live auction and will host pop-up galleries of additional works with sales to benefit the museum.

Beginning April 20, the public can view an online preview catalogue of works to be included in the live and silent auctions at glacierartmuseum.org/fundraiserevents.

Tickets for the fundraising event on May 8 are $125 per person or $200 for a duo/couple and are available in advance by e-ticket at reservation at glacierartmuseum.org/fundraiserevents, by emailing [email protected], or by calling 406-755-5268.
