Lloyd James Sauberan, 82, passed away peacefully March 28, 2026, at his winter home in Chandler, Ariz., with his son, Guy, by his side.

Born on Feb. 1, 1944, in Tonawanda, N.Y., Lloyd proudly served in the United States Army. He was a self-made man who built his life through hard work, determination and an entrepreneurial spirit. As the owner and operator of Lloyd’s Automotive, he took great pride in running his own business and forging his own path. He was known for his strong work ethic, quick smile and generous laugh.

Lloyd married Veronica St. Jean and moved to Burbank, Calif. Together, they welcomed four children: Carol, Lloyd, Guy and Stacey.

He later married Lois Brown and began a new chapter. They moved to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, where he became an active member of the community. Through this marriage, he gained a stepdaughter, Cheri.

Lloyd never fully retired, but he learned to slow down and appreciate life’s simple pleasures. He enjoyed traveling, spending summer days along the St. Joe River, and wintering in Arizona.

A man of deep faith, Lloyd was an active member of Real Life Church for over 20 years. His relationship with the Lord brought him peace and comfort, especially in his final days. Lloyd will be remembered for his generosity and the joy he brought to those around him. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, resilience and love for his children and grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 18, 2026, at Yates Funeral Home — Hayden Chapel, 373 E. Hayden Ave., Hayden, ID 83835, with a reception following. Please sign Lloyd’s online guestbook at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com.
