April is Strengthening Families month. On April 25, the Mineral County Health Department, along with the Family Connections Collaborative and the local Parents as Teachers group, joined together to put on its first-ever Strengthening Families Stroll in Superior along the river trail on the Clark Fork. The event started with registration, goody bags with snacks for the walk, and a rock painting station. Children could then hide their painted stones along the route.     The 1.2-mile stroll aimed at promoting safety and the well-being of all Montana kids, and to highlight the value of child abuse prevention. Under a big blue archway, kids and their families took off down the trail to find three different stations along the stroll. (Mineral Independent/Amy Quinlivan)
