Whitefish’s Rainbow’s End Daycare and Preschool, a non-profit, is hosting a family fun barbecue, “Pig Out on Central,” to raise funds to replace aging playground equipment. The event is May 9, from 1:30-5:30 p.m., at 38 Central Ave. in Whitefish.

Entrance is free but a plate of pulled pork or chicken and all the trimmings costs $25 presale or $30 the day of the event. Children 10 and under dine free. A corn hole tournament with prizes costs $20 per team.

Activities include three live musicians, John Patterson, Tim Helnore and Cara Alboucq, children’s face painting, a craft table, yard games, a photo booth, and a corn hole tournament. There will be a silent auction and three raffles, including a wheelbarrow of liquor, a 50/50, and a dining basket of gift certificates. The staff of 38 Central will provide a full bar.

Established in Whitefish in 2005, Rainbow’s End is located at 1150 Wisconsin Ave. and has served many area families, from once-a-week care to five-days-a-week care and preschool, for children ages 0-6.
