Zeller, a senior outfielder from Post Falls High and Community Colleges of Spokane, went 2 for 4 and drove in three of the Warriors' five runs in a 5-2 win over Warner Pacific on Friday at Harris Field in Lewiston. His two-run single in the first inning gave LC State a 3-0 lead. Zeller then added a solo homer in the fourth, his first of the season. For the season, Zeller is batting .280 with one homer, seven doubles, 20 RBIs and 26 runs scored for the Warriors (38-7, 30-7 Cascade Conference), who host the conference tournament this weekend. LC State plays the winner of Bushnell and Oregon Tech on Friday at 6 p.m.

Idaho golf
The senior from Bognar Regis, England and North Idaho College was named Big Sky Conference Player of the Year in men's golf.
McCartain finished in the top 13 in eight of the Vandals' 10 tournaments, including a runner-up finish at the Battle for Idaho in Boise, and a third-place finish at the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational in Colorado Springs.
He closed the regular season with a 71.1 scoring average.

The senior from Post Falls High, along with her partner Eliana Dean, was named NAIA All-American for the Spirit of Surprise, Ariz. No. 4 Ottawa finished runner-up to No. 1 Southern Oregon in the championship match of the NAIA National Invitational Tournament last Saturday at the Arizona Athletic Grounds in Mesa, Ariz.

The junior pitcher from Coeur d'Alene High and North Idaho College limited Eastern Oregon to one hit over the final five innings and the Owls battled back from an early deficit to topple Eastern Oregon 5-3 last Saturday to claim the outright Cascade Collegiate Conference regular-season title at Peggy Anderson Field in La Grande, Ore. Oregon Tech (40-6, 20-4 CCC) earned the host site for this week's conference championships, scheduled for Friday through Sunday at Stilwell Stadium in Klamath Falls. Schmidt is 17-2 with a 1.37 ERA, with 140 strikeouts in 127.2 innings.
