The Bonners Ferry Farmers Market kicked off its 2026 season April 25 with clear skies, crisp air and a steady crowd of community members enjoying the spring weather.

Shoppers browsed vendor booths while families, children and even dogs filled the market space, creating a lively opening-day atmosphere.

Market manager Shawna Siver said the market is experimenting with a new layout this year to improve flow and accommodate more vendors.

“We’re trying out a new layout today. It’s kind of an experiment to see how it’ll work, because we’re trying to open up more space for more vendors,” Siver said.

The updated setup includes additional open space and a small picnic-style seating area, giving visitors a place to gather and spend more time at the market.

Organizers are also working to reduce vehicle traffic within the market area to create a more pedestrian-friendly environment.

Siver said the market reached capacity at times last season and hopes the changes will help support continued growth. Additional layout adjustments may be made throughout the season as organizers evaluate what works best.

“We’re trying out a lot of new stuff, so it should be a fun year,” she said.

The market is always seeking new vendors and encourages anyone who would like to be a vendor to apply.
