A new exhibit titled Daylight Chaser, featuring the work of self-taught artist Brian Braunberger, opens May 1 at Phillips Gallery in Kalispell.

The exhibit includes oil paintings of Flathead Valley landscapes that “capture the unmatched scenic splendor of the region, transforming majestic backdrops into timeless works of art,” according to a press release. Drawing from his background in graphic design and marketing, he has cultivated a distinct landscape painting style.

“My paintings attempt to translate the quiet poetry of nature through color, form, atmosphere and light.  Each canvas becomes an encapsulated representation of shifting moods, filtered through a creative process of outdoor experiences and traditional artistic intuition,” Braunberger said. “Through this fusion, I strive to create art that reflects not only what is seen by the eye but an interpretation of nature’s daily emotional fingerprint of lighted rhythm.”

A reception will be held on the opening night from 5 to 7 p.m. An artist’s talk will begin at 5:30 p.m. Those in attendance may enter a drawing for a chance to win a framed print by the artist.

The exhibit will be on display through May 30.

The gallery is located inside the Kalispell Center Mall, 20 N. Main St. For more information, call 406-309-2335.
