Students perform well at District Music Festival

Northwest Montana’s students didn’t miss a beat at the District Music Festival hosted by Flathead and Glacier high schools.  

Bands, orchestras and choirs from high schools in Flathead, Lincoln and Lake counties participated in the festival held earlier this month. 

Entries were judged as either superior, excellent, good, fair, or poor on a 1 to 5 scale. 

Following is Whitefish High School results. 


Band 

Superior performance and sight-reading: Wind Ensemble and concert band. 

Superior solos: Ginger Bergland, euphonium; Lydia Buc, clarinet; Bjorn Bungener, trombone; Leo Bungener, French horn; Sophie Douglas, flute; Paxton Elm, baritone saxophone; Cohen Gates, clarinet; Kaylynn Gates, marimba; Ella Idleman, clarinet; Samantha Keim, flute; Simona Knutson, clarinet; Jesse Livingston, bass clarinet;  Kaya Naumovich, clarinet; Kayla Richardson, flute; Grace Sliman, alto Saxophone; Grace Sliman, flute and Orla Sullivan, tuba.
