What's happened to my Montana?

I was born and raised in Montana as were my mother, her parents and their parents, early homesteaders. In my Montana, people were quick to support each other, were positive about political outcomes, were respectful in their discourse and realized there was a certain amount of wisdom to be had in all points of view.

We even elected a woman to U.S. Congress before women had “the right” to vote.

So I ask myself, “What has happened to my Montana?” That the Republican Central Committee would renounce these values in order to accept dark money to paper our community with outright lies, photoshopped images, and misleading statements meant to destroy our trust in our elected representative is deplorable! Shame on you.

Linda Rekston has proven that she has only the greater good of Lake County residents on her agenda. An example of this is the good work in crafting education bills which came from her committee and easily passed the House only to be stopped short by small-minded MAGA Republicans in the Senate.

Why would anyone want to run for public office in this environment? For Representative Reksten, it is dedication, pure and simple.

Be careful how you vote in this coming important Republican primary. A vote for Representative Reksten is a vote for the positive values of my Montana. A vote for her opponent is a vote for mean spirited, underhanded and manipulative political tactics.
