Aug. 2, 1976 – CHRISTIAN WOMEN MEET 

Fifty-six women heard Ruth Cross’s testimony as a “fulfilled Jewess” when Bonner County Christian Women met for luncheon at the Litehouse in Hope. Joyce Gonzales demonstrated making Indian style jewelry with silver and turquoise. The necklace she made was awarded to Sue Press, a newlywed from Hawaii, for having come the greatest distance. Music was by Molly Cates, her daughter, Molly Kay, and Sue Osborne, with Lela Osborne on the piano.

SENIOR CITIZENS PLAN MONTANA TOUR 

A trip to Montana for senior citizens 55 and over is being organized through the Sandpoint Senior Citizen Center. Cost for the Aug. 16-18 trip is $36.60 to $42.30, depending on the lodgings selected. The trip will include a tour of Helena, including a display of Charles Russell paintings, and the Catholic cathedral. A tour of Virginia and Nevada Cities will provide a view of restored western towns, including an evening melodrama by the Virginia City Players.

WEDDING PLANNED 

Sept. 11 is the date chosen by Kristine Kotschevar, Sandpoint, and Jack Collison, Portland, Ore. for their wedding at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Sandpoint. Rev. Richard Wemhoff, Moscow, will officiate. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Donald Kotschevar and Mr. and Mrs. V.L. Collison, all of Sandpoint.

PINK AND BLUE SHOWER 

Mrs. Harley Gunter [nee Lois Warren] was honored with a pink and blue shower Thursday at the home of Mrs. Leonard Powell on Lakeside. Co-hostesses were Miss Grace Morris and Miss Dagmar Haugness. Guests were the honored guest, Mrs. Vern Gunter, Mrs. Elbert Gunter, Mrs. Clifford Warren, Miss Dorothy Warren, Miss Velma Warren, Mrs. Kenneth Coulston, Mrs. Dick Bradetich, Miss Mary Lee Piatt, Mrs. Leo Hadley, Miss Olivia Verdal, Mrs. Milson Kellner and Mrs. Howard Ridley.

CABINET SCHOOL TO REOPEN 

After a census of the Cabinet district, it has been found necessary to continue the Cabinet school. There are 42 elementary grade children now residing in the Cabinet district, 17 on the Cabinet side of the Clark Fork river, the others from families with fathers employed at the Cabinet Gorge dam.
