Michael Marrs, 68

Michael Wayne Marrs, 68, entered into the presence of the Lord on June 29, 2026, at his home with his wife, Anne, by his side.

Michael was born on Dec. 10, 1957, in Vernal, Utah and grew up in Austin, Texas.

He was known for his gentle nature, generous heart, and sincere care for others. He welcomed people with warmth and had a gift for making them feel valued and loved. He was a faithful mentor who invested deeply in the lives of those around him.

Michael earned his bachelor's and master's degrees from Murray State University. He later continued his theological education at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, earning a Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry in Biblical Counseling as he prepared for the ministry God had called him to.

For 16 years, Michael served as Occupational Safety and Health Manager for Caldwell Tanks in Louisville, Kentucky. 

When the Lord called him into full-time ministry, Michael followed that calling by founding Logos Christian Counseling Center at Easthaven. There he counseled and encouraged individuals and families with compassion, wisdom and biblical truth. He later joined the church staff as associate pastor, continuing to serve others through teaching, counseling and ministry.

Michael met his wife Anne in 2003, and they shared 21 years of marriage. He was a devoted husband who loved Anne dearly and was truly the humble servant leader of their home.

A central part of Michael's ministry was helping men become the husbands and fathers God called them to be. Through counseling and mentoring, he encouraged men to lead their homes with humility, love, and a servant's heart, following the example of Christ.

Michael found joy in the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting, sailing and cowboy action shooting. He also loved cooking and entertaining, often bringing people together around the table. His home was a place where others felt welcomed and cared for.

Above all, Michael loved the Lord and desired others to know the hope found in Jesus Christ. 

Michael is lovingly remembered by his wife, Anne. He is also survived by his father and stepmother, Lawrence and Billie Jo Marrs; his sisters, Kelly (Sean) Sullivan and Kimberly (Joseph) Rose; three stepchildren, Daniel, Adam and Emily; seven nieces and nephews, seven great-nieces and nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins and four grandchildren. 

Michael is preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Barbara and Gene Grove and his uncles, Norman Pease and James Marrs.

A celebration of life service will be held at Easthaven Church, Saturday, Aug. 8, at 10 a.m.
