Moses Lake Firefighters respond to Job Corp dorm fire

There is a structure fire in one of the dormitories at Moses Lake Job Corp that Grant County Fire District 5 and Moses Lake Fire Department is working on putting out.

MOSES LAKE — A fire started at the Moses Lake Job Corp early at 5:30 p.m. tonight. All staff and students were evacuated, and nobody was injured, according to a statement from the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.
Grant County Fire District 5 and Moses Lake Fire Department were on scene as of 7 p.m. handling the fire. Grant County Fire District 5 volunteer Adolfo Rodriguez said crews were at the fire and it was under investigation.
The firefighters are still trying to get the fire under control as of 7:30 p.m., according to a statement from GCSO.
Grant County Fire Marshal Nathan Poplawski has asked people to avoid the area.
8:30 p.m. update:
The fire is being reported in a hard-to-reach location by GCSO. Firefighters continue their efforts to safely access the blaze.
9:30 update:
The fire broke through the roof causing firefighters to have to evacuate the building and roof. The firefighters are now working on putting out the fire using direct streams from the outside of the structure. It has been deemed unsafe to be inside of the building, according to a statement from Grant County Sheriff's Office.
