Police Calls: Who can be trusted with car keys?

The police calls section does not reflect the nature or the volume of the calls received by local law enforcement. 

July 18 

A male on the golf course accidentally dialed 911. 

The caller with slurred speech called to say he allowed a female to drive his vehicle because he has a suspended license. Turns out, she, too, has a suspended license, so if she is pulled over, "that's on her." 

July 19 

A wallet was found and taken to the police department. 

Although the man with a loose dog was accused of being disorderly and harassing people, he was found to be well behaved with his dog on a leash. 

Another wallet was found. 

Someone was cited for urinating in public in front of a house on Railway Street. 

One wallet was returned. 

The drivers of two trucks were reportedly rolling coal up and down Second Street. 

Twenty-four traffic stops were completed today. 

A pickleball player accidentally dialed 911. 

A physical disturbance involved two men fighting, one of whom was waving guns around. 

The caller asked about an ordinance regarding the noise from a business on Central Avenue and was told they can play music as long as it is for business. Reportedly, they crank the music, and it shakes the whole building. 

July 21 

A white Jeep with purple trim was not parked illegally on East Second Street but was stickered for not having license plates. 

The caller was upset that the couple parked for 15 minutes on Lenna Joy Drive eating lunch did not leave when he asked them to. 

A truck stuck in the middle of Highway 93 was moved. 

There was a blockage on East Fourth Street and no injuries when a trailer with a backhoe struck the caller's parked truck and all the vehicles became stuck together. 

Within an hour or so, two drivers were cited for speeding and one was warned. 

Someone reported seeing a suspicious bike in the back of the parking garage.
