Robert Mark Jewett, 87

Robert (Bob) was born Aug. 30, 1938, to Robert and Lucille (Hendrickson) Jewett in Seattle, Wash. He passed away July 25, 2026, at the age of 87 in Hayden, Idaho. As a young child, he spent many enjoyable summers at the home of his grandparents, Charles and Mamie Jewett, on Lake Goodwin in Washington. At about the age of 11, he had his own paper stand in the West Seattle junction; at 16, he worked at the local A&P grocery store. These jobs at an early age developed a positive work ethic that he lived his whole life. 

Robert was always interested in cars, and sometimes drove too fast until his father, a Seattle Police Officer, found out about all of his tickets. While attending Hillcrest Presbyterian Church in Seattle, he met his future wife, Jackie Hooten. After completing his basic training with the Washington Air National Guard Reserves, Bob and Jackie were married Feb. 5, 1960, at the church where they met and served for many years. They were married for 66 years and were blessed with three children: Robert, Renee and William. 

Bob built a cabin on Lake Lawrence in Shelton, Wash., which family and friends enjoyed for many years. Bob was a dedicated provider for his family, often working two jobs. Bob and Jackie retired to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, in 1997, and have enjoyed the area with their daughter, Renee, son-in-law Kim and grandson Cody, along with many new friends. The first few years of retirement, from Emery Worldwide, were spent traveling. After joining Real Life Ministries, Bob took the position of Food Room Coordinator for the Benevolence Food Ministry for many years. 

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Lucille Jewett, and his son, William (Bill) H. Jewett. He is survived by his beloved wife, Jackie; son Robert (Lori) Jewett; daughter Renee (Kim) Taylor; five grandchildren, Rob, Tyler, Cody, Cassidee and Danny; four great-grandchildren, Lyla, Warren, Lucas and Cora; sisters Betty Fox and Carol (Leonard) Larson; sister-in-law Georgean (Ronald) Coleman; and many nieces and nephews.
