The rising junior setter from Post Falls High was named MVP as the Toreros, competing as Team USA, won the 2026 FISU America Games last week in Lima, Peru.

In Saturday's final against Chile, Munday had 35 assists with 11 digs and zero setting errors while the offense in front of her hit .295 in a 25-19, 25-12, 28-26 victory. For the week she totaled 180 assists — 10.6 per set — against just two errors, neither of them in the final three matches, and San Diego hit .311 behind her. 

San Diego finished 5-0 and won 15 of 17 sets, taking four-set wins over Brazil and Argentina around sweeps of Peru, Colombia and Chile. The Toreros hit .311 for the tournament and held their five opponents to .079 — none of them hit better than .173 in any match.

Kodie Kolden

Dallas Baptist baseball

The Lake City High grad and former Washington State Cougar was named the Patriots' recruiting coordinator. In his new role, Kolden will coordinate the Dallas Baptist coaching staff's national recruiting efforts.

"From the day Kodie Kolden walked on campus as a player, and now as a coach, he has done nothing but impress and exceed expectations," DBU head coach Dan Heefner said. "He is the ultimate professional. His work ethic, attention to detail, and work capacity are second to none."

Kolden is entering his fourth year on the Patriots' coaching staff. He joined the staff in the fall of 2023 as director of player development and infield coordinator, and one year later, he was promoted to assistant coach and has helped lead DBU to two NCAA Regional appearances, a Conference USA regular season championship in 2025, and the 2024 CUSA tournament title.

"Kodie has an elite baseball mind," Heefner added. "He does an amazing job with our infielders, baserunners, and offense. In a very short time, he has also proven himself to be equally as effective as a recruiter. We are thrilled to have Kodie coordinating our staff's recruiting efforts. We know he will leave no stone unturned to help find elite players who fit the culture and mission of DBU Baseball."

Before joining the coaching staff, Kolden played five seasons of college baseball, three at Washington State and two at Dallas Baptist, capping his career as DBU's starting third baseman in 2023. That season, he led the winningest team in program history with a .353 batting average, stole 21 bases, and committed just five errors at the hot corner. In the Stillwater Regional, he hit .471 with two home runs, earning a spot on the all-tournament team.

Luke West

Lewis-Clark State College golf

West, from Coeur d'Alene High, earned Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar honors for the second straight year, announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America on Monday.

West ended his junior season with a 3.65 GPA while studying business administration and earned All-Cascade Conference honors for the first time in his career. He averaged a score of 72.4 throughout CCC play to rank seventh in the conference and earned his first individual victory with medalist honors at the Tournament of Knights. West was voted the CCC Men’s Golfer of the Week twice.

To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically. In addition, they must participate in 50% of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 78.0 and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their school.
