Festival continues with second week of music

The Festival at Sandpoint continues with its second week of music with a host of top name musicians taking the center stage. Concerts continue through Sunday, Aug. 9.

Performing at the 2025 Festival this week are:

Aug. 6 — Midland

Footloose and free, working hard and drinking harder, Midland makes country music feel timeless and alive, with songs built for drinking, dancing and heartbreak. The GRAMMY-nominated trio — Mark Wystrach, Cameron Duddy and Jess Carson — takes its name from a Dwight Yoakam song and channels classic country through rich harmonies, steel guitar and a worn-in cool honed in Texas barrooms. Their breakout No. 1 hit “Drinkin’ Problem” is 5x platinum and helped launch a global following.

More than music, Midland’s aesthetic spans rhinestone suits, tequila and cigars, reflecting a full embrace of classic country culture. From "On the Rocks" and chart-topping "Let It Roll" to "The Last Resort: Greetings From" and 2024’s "Barely Blue," their catalog blends tradition with modern edge.

With songs like “Burn Out” and “Cheatin’ Songs,” Midland continues to define its sound — rooted, stylish and unmistakably country.

Aug. 7 — Switchfoot

Switchfoot has sold over 10 million copies worldwide of their 13 studio albums, including their 2003 triple-platinum breakthrough "The Beautiful Letdown". 2009's Grammy Award-winning "Hello Hurricane," racked up a string of alternative radio hit singles, and performed sold-out tours with over 5 million concert tickets sold in over 40 countries around the world. 

Through their unique blend of emotionally intelligent and uplifting brand of alternative rock, Switchfoot has earned a devoted and loyal global fan base.

Switchfoot has raised over $3 million  to aid kids in their community through their BRO-AM Foundation.

Switchfoot consists of Jon Foreman (vocals, guitar), Tim Foreman (bass), Jerome Fontamillas (keys, guitar), and Chad Butler (drums).

Aug. 8 — Rick Springfield

Over four decades, Rick Springfield has built a wide-ranging career as a musician, actor and author. The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter behind hits like “Jessie’s Girl,” “Don’t Talk to Strangers” and “Human Touch” has sold more than 25 million albums and scored 17 Top 40 hits.

Beyond music, Springfield has earned acclaim as an actor, appearing in “Ricki and the Flash” alongside Meryl Streep, HBO’s “True Detective,” the CW’s “Supernatural,” and FX’s “American Horror Story.” As an author, his memoir "Late, Late at Night" was named one of the 25 greatest rock memoirs by Rolling Stone, while his novel "Magnificent Vibration" also became a New York Times bestseller.

Springfield received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2014 and hosts SiriusXM’s “Working Class DJ.” His latest album, "Automatic," is his first full collection of original material in five years.

Aug. 9 — "How to Train Your Dragon 2" in Concert

DreamWorks’ "How to Train Your Dragon 2" is that rare sequel that’s a worthy successor to the original.

The event is a movie-in-concert. Audiences will watch the entire film with dialogue on a large screen. Only the in-film score has been removed and instead will be performed live-to-picture by an orchestra below the screen on stage, making for an immersive and powerful experience.

"How To Train Your Dragon 2 In Concert" features this spectacular sequel presented in HD with composer John Powell’s thrilling score performed live to picture by a full symphony orchestra in an awe-inspiring experience for the whole family.

The evening will include free face painting and a fireworks display.

Prior to the concert, guests can select to add on a ticket to the "Cheers: Wine, Beer, & Spirit Tasting" event where guests will sample pours from across the region. The two-hour tasting event also includes a souvenir tasting cup.
