Festival welcomes Midland to center stage

SANDPOINT — It's time to get footloose and free as Midland takes to the Festival stage today, Aug. 6.

The Grammy-nominated trio — Mark Wystrach, Cameron Duddy and Jess Carson — takes its name from a Dwight Yoakam song and channels classic country through rich harmonies, steel guitar and a worn-in cool honed in Texas barrooms. Their breakout No. 1 hit “Drinkin’ Problem” is 5x platinum and helped launch a global following.

More than music, Midland’s aesthetic spans rhinestone suits, tequila and cigars, reflecting a full embrace of classic country culture. From "On the Rocks" and chart-topping "Let It Roll" to "The Last Resort: Greetings From" and 2024’s "Barely Blue," their catalog blends tradition with modern edge.

Alongside “Drinkin’ Problem,” their catalog also includes Platinum-certified “Burn Out” and GOLD-certified favorites including “Cheatin’ Songs,” “Make A Little” and “On The Rocks.” The band's commitment to the sounds, stories, and places that define country music persists in Stages, out June 12 via Blue Highway Records. Braiding Laurel Canyon country-rock, Texas outliers, and a shot of vintage Nashville, the project pulls together the many phases of their journey, further staking their claim as one of country’s most engaging acts.

Opening for Midland is Camden Morris, a Nashville-based artist whose songwriting is rooted in the tradition of American road music — honest songs shaped by miles, people, and time. Raised between the mountains of North Idaho and the coastlines of Southern California, Morris pulls from both worlds, blending timeless storytelling with a rugged, modern perspective.

Tickets to the concert are $80.95, including all fees and taxes. Gates open at 6 p.m. with the concert starting at 7 at War Memorial Field. This will be a standard show, meaning that the area in front of the stage is a general admission dancing and standing area.
