Law roundup: Rude behavior almost leads to fisticuffs

A spat between two groups of people outside a sub shop got heated enough for a phone call to the Kalispell Police Department. After an investigation, officers determined that both groups felt the other had behaved rudely, which sparked an argument. The group that sought help from the police said they lived in Canada and did not plan on coming back.
Two thieves lifted Magic: The Gathering cards valued at $204.74. Another victim of theft reported that a purloiner made off with $328.31 in cards that were left in a vehicle. The type of card in the latter case was not specified.
Officers took a man caught trespassing into custody.
Concerned about her belongings, a Spokane woman turned to the police for help. She said she had been seeing a man and that they were still exclusive, but she had asked for a few things back and failed to receive them. She planned to call back if a civil standby seemed necessary.
Tired of looking at an SUV parked across the street for a week, a resident alerted the authorities. Officers tracked down the owner, who said that it actually belonged to her daughter and had since run into mechanical troubles. She agreed to move it to the back of the house.
Authorities investigated the disappearance of a set of three wedding rings. The woman who they belonged to said they were given to her by her mother-in-law. She estimated their worth between $1,300 and $1,700.
Officers cited a motorist for a red-light violation. A different motorist received a warning for failing to yield to traffic, and a third was warned for driving around with expired registration.
Told that there were several dogs left in a bus parked in a lot, officers checked out the vehicle. Unable to see or hear any dogs inside, the officers called out for the animals and hung around for a few minutes. There was still no sign of any pups.
Concerned when a dog barked at them and tried to jump the fence, a passerby asked the authorities to make sure the animal was secured.
