Carol Joy Grigg, 88

Carol Joy Grigg hopped on the Rainbow Train from here to the hereafter on June 28, 2026, at the age of 88. Born in Bremerton, Washington, Carol grew up in Columbia Heights. Those early years involved 4-H, church, bible camp, hiking and swimming. Carol's fondest memory was sneaking downstairs with the little money she had to go buy an ice cream cone. Carol carried her love of ice cream throughout her life.
Carol truly enjoyed her eight years of 4-H. She was an exceptional seamstress and could create and sew almost anything. She had fond memories of modeling her own sewn outfits in front of the fairground stadium and being able to take a day off of school to do final 4-H baking of cakes and cookies. Later in life, Carol mastered custom-made drapery and furniture upholstery.
Carol built a well-lived life centered on hard work. After graduating from Kinman Business University, Carol spent some 40 years building a work career with Anaconda Aluminum Plant, Ford Motor Philco, British Petroleum Exploration (BP) and the City of Kalispell.
Carol marked the year 1993 with immense pride. After receiving her A.A. from the University of Alaska Anchorage with honors, she purchased a newly built home in Montana and then found her calling as a low-income housing specialist with the City of Kalispell. As head of her own household and past work experience, Carol had a great balance of understanding for the increased need of community housing.
Carol had a deep love for her family. Lovely memories of her steadfast and gentle stepmother Mary Thomas; siblings Jessie Mae (Dick), Jimmy Lee (Kay), Richard Ray (Eileen), a myriad of dogs (Sadie girl); and her most important life accomplishment, her two daughters Kimi Grigg (Diane) and Lu Ann Grigg; plus, her extended family and wide circle of friends.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to BeeHive Homes of Columbia Falls and their amazing staff (Katie, Rheyanna & Nicole) for their kind care of Carol the last three-plus years. In place of flowers, please give a donation to Stillwater Hospice and Palliative Care Kalispell in Carol's name.
Carol loved ice cream, a good hamburger with all the trimmings and French fries. Gather close family and friends at a home or restaurant and enjoy in her honor.
Carol's legacy of kindness and devotion will continue in the lives of all who loved her.
