Power restored after outage that affected 1,200 KEC members

Power has been restored following a Sunday afternoon outage that affected 1,200 members in the Hayden area, Kootenai Electric Cooperative said.

The outage lasted from about 2:30 p.m. to just before 4 p.m., according to KEC.

"As a reminder, we’ve modified our system to turn off automatic re-energization when a fault occurs and crews must also patrol the power lines to confirm that the lines are clear and it is safe to restore power," according to KEC's outage map.
