Law roundup: Alleged garbage fire extinguished

A Columbia Falls resident reportedly thought garbage was fueling a neighbor’s fire that was too large to be a campfire or bonfire and wanted the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office to check it out. The fire was put out because the individuals didn’t have a permit.

Deputies later responded to hay bales on fire a few hundred feet away from a barn in Columbia Falls and roughly 50 yards from a house. The fire was extinguished.

An electrical box outside a house allegedly caught fire in Kalispell and was extinguished while the power was shut off. The homeowners were advised not to turn it back on until the electric company checked it out.

People reportedly shot fireworks into someone’s field and into the river in Kalispell.

Someone alleged that their neighbor was negligent in not taking their sick dog to the veterinarian.

A German shepherd reportedly killed an Australian shepherd in Kalispell.

Whitefish Police responded to a report of youths allegedly having a rollicking time yelling and screaming at 1 a.m. at the National Guard Armory. 

Someone allegedly tried to sign up for credit cards using stolen bank account information on Central Avenue.

A drunk woman reportedly threw pots at her boyfriend and hit him when he refused to give her her car keys to leave and stood in the middle of the road trying to talk to him on East First Street. 

A welfare check was requested for a woman with scrapes on her face who was reportedly rolling on the ground on Commerce Street and U.S. 93 South by someone who told police they thought she may have hit her head and was walking her back to a hotel.
