John Cleaveland Beebe, 68

John Cleaveland Beebe went home to heaven Tuesday, June 2, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with melanoma. John was born Oct. 4, 1957, to Stewart and Shirley Beebe of Hayden Lake, Idaho.

As a child growing up, John was involved in many activities. He was a member of 4-H and the Boy Scouts. He loved riding his horse, playing with his dog, going for bike rides and spending time with his family and friends. John was active in band throughout his school years and marched in many parades. He was also an avid snow and water skier and earned many awards in the events he participated in.

John attended Coeur d’Alene High School (Vikings) and graduated with the Class of 1976. He enjoyed cruising Sherman Avenue in his 1972 Chevy Nova SS with his friends. While attending school, he worked for several years at the Cedars Floating Restaurant.

Throughout his career, John owned and operated a waterbed store, worked as a Realtor, spent time in banking and eventually became a Senior Loan Officer, working in mortgages for over 35 years.

On Oct. 16, 1998, John married Cheryl, and together they became a blended family with six children. He loved spending time with his family, especially boating and camping together. John and Cheryl also enjoyed having a music business on the side, providing music for weddings and karaoke parties.

John is survived by his wife, Cheryl, of 27 years; his children: Jessica Shultz (Brandon), Candy Blackman (Jarrod), Michael Beebe, Elizabeth Carson (Cody), Amy Beebe and William Beebe; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Mary Beebe, Stewart Beebe (Susan) and George Beebe (Peggy), along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

John was preceded in death by his father, Stewart Beebe, and his mother, Shirley (Stearns) Beebe.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate John’s life Saturday, Aug. 15, at 2 p.m. at Calvary Chapel Lighthouse, 650 W. Lancaster Road, Hayden, Idaho.
