Todd A. Lapka, 63, passed away on July 30, 2026, in Hope, Idaho.

Private family services will be held.

Todd was born in 1962, in South Dakota to Gary and Sharon Lapka. He grew up in Fairview, Montana, learning his dad’s grocery business from a young age. He took that knowledge to run and eventually own Empire Foods in Libby, Montana for 40 years until he retired in 2024.

He enjoyed anything active like rebuilding vehicles, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, biking, photography and traveling. He also used his various self-taught skills to restore several homes throughout Libby and any other place he ever lived.

Todd’s love for his family cannot be measured as they meant everything to him.

He is survived by his wife of 14 years Sandra (MacLachlan) Lapka; son Aaron (Crystal); daughter Joni Riddel; grandchildren Tyler, Peyton, Sophia, Jackson and Presley; siblings Scott (Cindy), Jeff (Gina), Lynn (Holly) and Michell (Raul Rodriguez); several nephews and nieces, and many friends.
His battle with Glioblastoma was met with his usual strength and stubbornness, but it took him from us far too soon.

Todd will be remembered for his generous nature, and he will be deeply missed by everyone who was lucky enough to know him.

Memorial donations may be made to Bonner Community Hospice, a local non-profit organization, who provided comfort and care for Todd as well as his family.

Lakeview Funeral Home in Sandpoint, Idaho is handling the arrangements. Please visit Todd’s online memorial at www.lakeviewfuneral.com and sign his guest book.
