Perkl, an infielder/pitcher, hit .500 with nine doubles, one triple, 11 runs batted in and 23 run scored in the Mountaineers' final 12 games of the season. "He's rock-solid up in the middle and a kid with a really bright future," Northern Lakes coach Bryce Johnson said. "He's just completed his sophomore summer and took a massive step forward in terms of leadership and mental toughness. He's always had the raw talent, but he really took a big step the last few weeks of the season at the plate and in the field."
