Danny Lee Blanton of Hayden died and went to his Lord and Savior on Aug. 5, 2026. Danny was born Aug. 20, 1949, in Springerville, Ariz., and was raised in Arizona by his parents, Bobby and Daisey (Jean) Blanton. He was the oldest of nine children. He was valedictorian of his high school senior class. After graduation, he signed up to serve in the Navy during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Corpus Christi, Texas. After discharge, he went to work for GE in the Tucson area, where he learned to rewire and repair electric motors. In 1976, Danny traveled to Alaska and found a job in Anchorage. Using his skills with motors, he traveled throughout the state for his employer.

At an early age, Danny’s grandfather had instilled a hunger for God’s word, so he found a church in Anchorage and started attending regularly, and in 1977 he gave his heart and life to the Lord. It was while attending Diamond Blvd. Baptist Church that he met, courted and married his wife, Arlene. They both served many years in the church’s AWANA children’s ministry. In 1998, they moved to New Mexico to be near his aging parents, and after 17 years there, in 2015, they moved to Coeur d’Alene to help out relatives.

Danny is survived by his wife, Arlene; son Robert; siblings Morris, Kathleen, Benny, Steve, Marie, Terry, David and Peggy; his three grandchildren, Courtney, Peyton and Zachary; and great-grandson Braxtyn.

A memorial service for Danny will be held Aug. 20 at 6:30 p.m. at Hayden Bible Fellowship. This service will also be live-streamed at www.haydenbiblefellowship.org. Please visit Danny’s online memorial and sign his guestbook at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com.
