A raccoon terrified an elderly woman who armed herself with a shovel to rescue her cat. Officers responded to her subsequent call for help and set up a trap, telling her not to touch it if a raccoon was caught and that they'd take care of it.

Someone reportedly thought two blonde men in their 20s were allegedly drunk driving in an older gray Dodge pickup.

Less than 30 seconds later, officers received a call from a bartender alleging an intoxicated patron left in an older Dodge pickup headed north on Third Avenue East.

Officers later received a call about a Dodge pickup that reportedly took a corner too quickly — rear-ending a vehicle parked in front of a law firm — then revving the engine and fleeing the scene.

Officers pulled over the gray Dodge Ram, had it towed and advised the jail of the incident. Police also ticketed the driver's passenger for minor in possession of alcohol. The minor walked a couple houses down to his girlfriend's residence.

Someone claimed a tattooed man driving a white van with no license plates was weaving in traffic and flashed a "gang sign," saying he pointed his finger at them "like it was a gun."

A man reportedly threatened to burn a woman's bus down. She told police that she was filling out paperwork to obtain a temporary restraining order. Officers said if the bus was in a public area, police would check to make sure it wasn't burned down during regular patrols.

Someone found a suitcase in the woods and did not want to open it. Officers searched the bag for identifying documents, and finding none, threw it away as it appeared to have been there for a spell.
