Rock 'n' Roll Game Show returns to theater

NEWPORT — Think you know your classic rock? This is your chance to prove it at the upcoming Rock ‘n’ Roll Game Show.

The event, now in its second year, is directed by Lee Duke as it returns to the Circle Moon Theater for six high-energy performances, Aug. 13-15 and Aug. 20-22.

“Gather your family, invite your friends, and join us for an evening filled with music and laughter,” Northwoods Performing Arts officials said in a press release about the event.

The NPA production blends the excitement of a live game show with the soundtrack of classic rock, inviting audiences to sing, shout, laugh, and play right along with the cast. With live music, fast-paced games, audience participation, and enough unexpected twists to keep everyone guessing, no two performances of the game show are ever alike.

“Grab your friends, bring your best rock trivia, and get ready for a night you’ll be talking — and humming — about long after the curtain falls,” organizers said.

On Thursday, Aug. 13, dinner will be catered by Country Snack Shack and featuring baked ziti and Italian sausage; Friday, Aug. 14, Owen’s Catering, pulled pork; Saturday, Aug. 15, Mi Pueblo Restaurant, beef enchiladas; Thursday, Aug. 20, HooRay’s Catering, “marry me” shrimp; Friday, Aug. 21, beef tips; and Saturday, Aug. 22, barbecue ribs.

Tickets are $35 per person for dinner and show; show only: $14, adults; $12, seniors and children.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Dinner is served at 6:30 p.m. and the curtain rises at 7:30 p.m. sharp.

The Circle Moon Theater is on Highway 211, 3 1/2 miles north of U.S. 2.
