Whitefish Pilot | UPDATED 2 months, 3 weeks AGO
The public is invited to the Whitefish Trail Hootenanny, a fundraiser for the Whitefish Trail and Whitefish Legacy Partners on Friday, Aug. 21 at Depot Park in downtown Whitefish from 5 – 9:30 p.m. Enjoy live music, kid’s activities, food trucks, local craft beer and a huge raffle. All ages are welcome and participants are encouraged to walk or ride bikes to Depot Park.
This fundraising event is made possible by title sponsor First Interstate Bank, now in their 13th year. Event sponsors include BNSF Railway, Glacier Restaurant Group, Malmquist Construction, National Parks Realty, Edward Jones Financial Advisor Joel Pemberton and Summit Beverage.
Kids’ activities are sponsored by Flathead Area Mountain Bikers and Stumptown Art Studio, and the craft beer is exclusively from sponsors Jeremiah Johnson Brewing Company and Blackstar. Food trucks, wine, hard seltzer and Athletic Brewing NA beer options will be available as well.
“The Whitefish Trail Hootenanny is our way of bringing the community together at the end of summer to celebrate the Whitefish Trail and our local conservation lands," said Nathan Tuebner, Legacy Partners program manager. "It combines music, community and fundraising all for a great cause.”
Live music is made possible by Great Northern Bar and 101 Central.
Local band Hotdäyum! will kick off the night with an electrifying mix of groove, melody and improvisation. The New Wave Time Trippers of 1985 create a totally tubular 1980's dance party with both a visual and music show from the decade of decadence.
Whitefish Trail Hootenanny tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the gate, with kids 12 and under free. Tickets can be purchased online at whitefishlegacy.org or at the event.
Whitefish Legacy Partners will also be hosting a Hootenanny pop-up just outside of Blackstar BrewPub on Tuesday, Aug. 18 at 5 p.m., where entry and raffle tickets can be purchased as well.
A highlight is the raffle with terrific prizes including two unrestricted roundtrip tickets on Alaska Airlines, a Whitefish Mountain Resort season ski pass, a mountain bike from Glacier Cyclery and Nordic, restaurant and lodging gift certificates from the Lodge at Whitefish Lake, Firebrand, Whitefish Riverfront Hotel, and the Kandahar Lodge, a bike tool kit from Great Northern Cycle & Ski, two half day whitewater rafting trips from Glacier Raft Company, a snowboard from Stumptown Snowboards, a half day of fishing on Whitefish Lake from Whitefish Lake Charters, Legacy Bike Park day passes, a Kathryn Hayes Photography print, a gift basket from Uptown Hearth. You do not need to be present to win, and tickets can be purchased at Legacy Partners office or at the event.
